Nah. The Indy scene will never die. There will always be a need for Indy wrestling, because it's whats best for business. What happens if some young dude in his early 20's and gets cut from NXT? It's not the end, but he can then go Indys, Japan, or Mexico to train up and maybe get a 2nd shot. Just right now the talent pool was pouched, but give it a few years and someone who was 16, will want to wrestle in hopes to getting NXT's attention.

I was thinking about this as I read La Nariz' interview on Grantland a couple of weeks ago. Paraphrasing, but I remember him saying something to the effect of "Indie guys learn how to work, but not work in front of cameras, in the spotlight, and in WWE style. Right now we cherry pluck from the indies but we want our guys to start out at the Performance Center and be 100 % WWE trained.". I believe American indies will continue to suffer because of this, but they won't ever fully die. There aren't enough spots in WWE for every good wrestler in this country. The PWG/supercard model is the smartest IMO.

Wrestling in America needs a second company to compete with WWE badly, smh.

I saw Gunner from TNA was shytting all over $5 Wrestling, saying it's a joke. And someone posted this in response:

#fukkGunner :russ:

Every time I see Gunner I always think of that Ric Flair promo where he was trying to say Gunner and Murphy but was like "GUNNER AND.... PAL whatever his name is WOOOOOOOO!":bryan:

You know indy wrestling is dead when a discussion about it gets turned into a Freight Train Appreciation thread. :beli:

Watching indy guys jump off of basketball rims at gymnasiums is GOAT :wow:

Hanging out with the wrestlers after the show was always fun. The Heels were always the coolest, the faces were dikks.

Once WWE stepped up their developmental system and started giving legit pushes to indy guys it was done.

That's like Wal-Mart giving it's employees Post Office level pay & benefits. Who wants to work for Target after that?
