i think the article says those mid-range jumpers percentage is inflated because defenders sag off him still believing he cant shoot & giving him that shot

most of the time when defeders back off on players they think cant shoot, the player ends up shooting the ball thinking, hey im wide open............ but rondo keeps his dribble and just fills in that space that the defender ave him
next thing u know rondo in the pain with an easy shot

That doesn't mean they're not inflated, that just means he's taking open opportunities.

His 'shooting' ability will be put to the test this season, we'll see how he goes with being the focus of the offense. All his flaws will be on full display.
