I don’t see many people my age in the workforce these days. Even the doordasher/Uber drivers/ instacart all seem to be middle aged. So I’m wondering how people are getting by. Then it hit me: the recent mental health trend. You can get like 3,000 a month for mental health disabilities as long as you go to treatment. So is that why people are claiming to have anxiety, depression, etc cause they tired of the rat race![]()

Most Black men I know who got disabily because of addiction were military, mostly for alcohol. I think it's easier for civilians to get disability for depression, and even easier if you're military. When I was in a halfway house around 2007, that was the hustle for everyone. Not me, I got a job at the place, but all the guys just claimed disability because of a drunk/alcohol addiction and got a check.
