Does this game have a story? Or is it mindless shooting kinda of like twsted metal.
There's a story but the way it's handled it's almost like there isn't one. You can kind of follow the story as you want to cause the protagonist does not care at all.
It's mostly running and gunning but there is strategy involved. Once you start building up the arsenal, weapon switching and knowing when and who to use each weapon on is key. I love my

I thought it was kinda repetitive early on but around the fourth level or so it really finds it groove with the added secrets and your weapon mods/upgrades becoming far more important. Campaign ending is a bit weak but it's still easily the most enjoyable FPS since Wolfenstein: The New Order.

Anyone else like the Rune trials. Some are a pain in the ass but they're like fun side quests

I love almost everything about Doom. Between Doom (Perfectly polished run and gun) and Titanfall 2 (Amazing campaign with a variety of level mechanics that never feel gimmicky or lame because they're built around TF2 amazing skill based movement), it was a shockingly good year for shooters.
