It definitely has a lot of racists in it's tow. While I definitely support being armed and educated, much of their information can be gotten for free online and/or you have to take a course to get certified to open carry anywho.
On the flip :
At it's root, it is simply an organization aimed at educating people about the proper and lawful way to use firearms. Generally the organization doesn't catch flack for being racist but for being associated with firearms. But much of their material does revolve around the safe use of weapons. If you're big on firearms, you could join just to get the material and discounts that are afforded. Certainly you would have use for it. You don't have to go out to meetings with people to take advantage of perks.
It's kind of like your local big time neighborhood store chain. Plenty of bigots shop there along with you but because they have something you find reasonable and necessary you still do business with the store chain. Depends on your needs, brehs.

About the first thing in bold: Is that fact? receipts? I'm just curious.
About the second thing in bold: So what does that make blacks who fight against gun rights? ? ? And should all blacks in turn also be gun owners and .. but gun owners... i mean, defense , safety, disciple, community policing, and all the things that come along with it.

As far as blacks who support gun control? I think it makes them reasonable. Blacks and Whites don't have the same views about gun control for many reasons. One of the most important is our proximity to gun violence. We're more likely to know someone who has been injured or killed by a firearm. No all black folks shouldn't own a gun. Firearms owners are something like 40 times more likely to shoot someone that lives in their household than they are using it for defense. We could just expect more accidental shootings, wouldn't really change much else.
All in all, increases in firearms ownership and relaxed laws cause increases in firearms deaths, impose social costs, and probably increase many forms of crime (depending on your confidence intervals). I understand the argument for more gun ownership in the black community but the numbers and nature of crime don't say it would benefit us.

and.. I saw that someone said the initial wave of gun laws was instituted after the Civil War to deny blacks the ability to defend themselves
So wouldn't anyone against what they stand for be racist
i am memmber of a semi-private gun club local to me
$200 annual fee
inc. shooting range access
members only hours and areas
different weapons on hand to try
knowledgeable people to talk to
pro shop to do repairs, etc.
i can bring one guest at a time
if i shoot once a month the membership basically pays for itself
compared to other local alternatives
Its a myth that more guns is the reason why more crime exists.
ESPECIALLY for black people, when nearly 100% of our deaths have social economic roots.
Especially, when gun control was invented first on planet Earth to restrict socalled American blacks from gun ownership... every other law worldwide just adds on to that.
