Last week when I went to get a haircut my barber was talking to an OG about this
The OG started off by saying young black people arent going into trades anymore and instead they are being lead from school to go to the corporate world which is only benefitting whites and therefore there is no money being put back into the black community
They both agreed that if they had the knowledge they have now when they were younger they probably would go to Africa or the Caribbean and look to build there
The OG was tryna say you have examples of celebs doing things such as building schools or donating beds to poor black people etc but my barber said that shyt is nothing in reality. Wealthy black people should be looking to group together, start a consortium and by doing that they could make a real difference than trying to do small individual things. If the likes of Floyd, Jay Z, Lebron etc grouped together they could make such a massive difference together working on projects (definitely agree with my barber on this)
Most interesting, the OG asked my barber if he things black people will be back on top in his lifetime. My barber said he didnt think so as we are too far behind. I'm 25 and I'm really not sure if I will see it in my lifetime either.
Was a very interesting conversation than the usual sports you hear
