My nightmare is that trap style production will continue all the way into the next decade.

Just like an inferiority complex having west coaster to catch feelings NYC penchant for producing big characters goes far beyond hiphop. I never said other regions don't have charismatic people, the sheer volume that has come out of NYC is on another level though.

Not anymore. NY is a sheet of its former self personality wise. In the 21st century, the 90's and 00s babies have no real personality due to growing up in a safe era with technology and all.

Mediocre bars about Drugs, degrading women, money or killing other black people- check
Same tired ass trap beat with two 16th note hi hats- check
Lame ass C#, D note droning synth bass- check

Thats how to make a radio hit brehs

Yep that shyt is sad how simple minded people become with their musical taste. They eat anything that is fed to them.

For me it came out just two days ago, "Integrity>" by Jme, and before that it was in December with "Remember Me EP" by Dot Rotten. Unfortunately Dot retired and is a producer now, but I think rap's great right now. The big name rappers haven't produced anything good in awhile but other than Weezy I'm not a fan of any of them. If Rocky comes through next week I'd say we're eating pretty good. Pilot Talk 3 is getting a lot of plays from me too. I still need to listen to Barter 6 and Carter 5 has to be coming out sometime soon. If Bobby Shmurda gets off and drops a dope album this could be a great year.

If rap is ever boring then it's your fault. There's a lot of dope rappers out but you have to find them don't be lazy. With that being said Future is my favorite rapper and he feeds the streets with good music and not what Gucci does with these recycle bin mixtapes but he's still the gawd tho
