Rap is the most popular genre in music period and doing record numbers

Won't be going anywhere for a long time

No real stars, just social media rappers , music comes and goes without the big rollout. Even the good albums. shyt just feels different
I think technology has a lot to do with it. I just don't think people value it as much anymore since we have access to so much now and people can get any album/song for free or just stream it.

Rap is as popular as ever and it's nowhere near being debatable
But the hottest rapper is... lil pump ?uzi? I honestly don't even know but I do know that I don't feel the same energy I use to feel in the earth to mid 2000's as trash as Soulja boy was he put all his energy into making his product. Now it's like everyone, good or bad is half assing it like they not really dedicated. Albums with no rollout or promotion, lackluster projects, cheap videos. Cardi B really the only artist in 2017 that moved in a semi traditional way, Dope single +street buzz= brand /album promotion. She actually out here doing stuff.

Wil any of them have the same staying power as jay puff or cube? Drake mah have been the last "star"
Future been around since 2011, thats a long time. I do think he has staying power, now will it be on the same level as the 3 you mentioned who knows. Migos been in the game since 2012, they can be around a long time too. Drake def will be around a while. Uzi, remains to be seen.
