I see some of these games and people refer to guys as double double machines, yet I don't consider the rebound to be that great a stat to me when considering how good a guy played. :yeshrug:

Who does? Rebounding doesn't get you any props breh. :heh: Just look at Dwight. Led the L in rebounds at 70% and likely gonna do the same or at least be top 2 this year and all you hear about is his :scusthov: offensive game and how much of a bytch he is. You think someone could lead the L in scoring and get shat on like that. :usure: People only talk about rebounds in conjunction with points ala the double double machines you referenced or when an elite team like the Heat struggles to grab them. Otherwise you never really hear anything about rebounding.

The Heat won the championship BECAUSE of rebounding, so no it's not overrated

i understand what ur saying but so is field goal percentage....what good is it if ur shooting 60% for the first 3 quarters and then ur 1 for 10 in the fourth quarter

Baskets are just as important in the 1st quarter as they are in the last 5 mins of a game...

Rebounds = more possesions = more opportunities to score

Are you high? That's like saying "Are turnovers really THAT bad"?

We really gonna act like Melo has been shat on anywhere near as badly as Dwight? :comeon: Yes, Melo gets criticized but I don't think I have ever seen anyone call him a bytch or a woman or any thing along those lines. Those words have all become synonymous with Dwight despite being a dominant rebounder. Now show me the perenial scoring champ/all time great offensive force who catches it like that. The greatest scorers are all waaaaaaaaaaaaay big stars and get way more love than the greatest rebounders and it's really not a debate.

Rebounding is very important. There are 7 footers that get 5 or 6 a game and then you see guys like a Reggie Evans who's shorter, like 6'8" ish snaggin em like crazy cuz he's active as hell. Clean up giys are important. Rebounders are very important. They also give your shooters more confidence, because if you have a dude thats gonna get the O boards, it's easier to take a chance on a shot, especially when you're cold. Rebounders are a shooters best friend.

As a basketball player, yes. Dwight's only appears worse because he gets shytted on as a man too, and bigs tend to get harsh criticism because they leave you wanting more given their capabilities. Shaq was a monster and even he caught flack.
