because of the hook, it also became the quintessential 'going away' song.

I remember "different world" WASTED NO TIME using it on that episode when they wrote Dwayne & whitley off the show. when they had the going-away party and everybody sung it at the end. they had to be the first to use it in that manner.

Matter fact - now that I think about it, the most played Boyz II Men song in my collection is one they're barely on:

Never liked the song. It always sounded like a depressing farewell song and as a kid, I felt sad listening to it. I had to sit through it because my brother and others loved it. Never paid much attention to anything besides the chorus, which I hated. Looking at the words though, this is beyond simping.

But it was dope that they were around at a time when they could co-exist with a group like Jodeci and we copped all that shyt.
