I’ve missed more seasons than I’ve watched, but seasons 2-10, it was up there. Even when I catch a random new-ish episode, they're not even bad. But I literally grew up watching the Simpsons, starting with seeing shorts on Tracey Ullman.

Its crazy how a show with more bad seasons than good be in conversation for GOAT.
That’s how legendary the first 12 seasons are. If an episode is airing and it’s from first 12 seasons, im glued and laughing my a$$ off.
Can’t compare simpsons to the wire or sopranos lol. Its two different genres.

It was must see for me from age 12 when it first dropped as an actual sitcom up until I was 22-23 yrs old. It was also the only reason I'd even watch the Tracy Ullman show just to catch the little glimpses of the show. I was geeked when it became a real thing. Crazy that it's still going over 20 yrs after I stopped watching on the regular

I don't really consider the Simpsons having a bad season because every season since it's debut has had good episodes more than bad ones.
Plus I don't think people care about seasons when it comes to a show like The Simpsons, people just remember and care about particular episodes and segments.
I rarely hear anybody talk about what's the best season of The Simpsons because there's so many good-great memorable episodes that people never really kept track of which season they are from.
