Is the Spence/Crawford fight the most significant Welterweight matchup since Leonard/Hearns?

Is it the biggest fight at 147 in 30 years?

If we talking STRICTLY 147, yes. May/Pac was bigger historically but that's just the division they ended up fighting at.

What fight was bigger? Oscar/Tito? Popularity sure. Actual significance Undisputed > Unified. Curry/McCrory? Same significance nowhere close to the popularity.

That isn't the question that is in the title Pat. It is asking is it THE MOST SIGNIFICANT Welterweight fight since Leonard/Hearns.

There have been plenty of notable fights, but there hasn't been an undisputed welterweight champion in over 30 years. This IS the most significant fight in that division in a couple of generations.

That still isn't the question being asked. Bigger =/= more significant.

Let me put this into perspective for you. Mayweather-McGregor was a 'bigger ' fight than Canelo-GGG 1, even though Canelo-GGG 1 was more significant for the sport of boxing itself.

Spence-Crawford would crown the first undisputed WW champion in close to 40 years, it is without a doubt a more significant fight than any of the ones you mentioned, STRICTLY SPEAKING 147 alone.

Dudes just too stuck in the past. This is probably the biggest fight in boxing in 80% of us adult life time (assuming everyone is under 40 yrs old).

Emphasis on ADULT. Most us were kids in the 90s

you yourself just mentioned mccrory vs curry - that is the last 147 undisputed unification but was it bigger than a fight like oscar vs tito?
