With the fight we’ve all been waiting for softy finalized Myself, @patscorpio @King P and @LauderdaleBoss discussed if the Crawford and Spence fight is the biggest fight in the Glory division since Hearns and Leonard.
lowkey its telling on when ppl watched boxing. the ones that replied to that tweet though thankfully knew the deal lolnope
Twitter nikkas slept thru the Oscar/Floyd/Pac eras![]()
the word is significant breh...aint no way 147 went 40 years from leonard/hearns to now without 1 fight of note...like nah lolIf we talking STRICTLY 147, yes. May/Pac was bigger historically but that's just the division they ended up fighting at.
What fight was bigger? Oscar/Tito? Popularity sure. Actual significance Undisputed > Unified. Curry/McCrory? Same significance nowhere close to the popularity.
That isn't the question that is in the title Pat. It is asking is it THE MOST SIGNIFICANT Welterweight fight since Leonard/Hearns.the word is significant breh...aint no way 147 went 40 years from leonard/hearns to now without 1 fight of note...like nah lol

There have been plenty of notable fights, but there hasn't been an undisputed welterweight champion in over 30 years. This IS the most significant fight in that division in a couple of generations.
That still isn't the question being asked. Bigger =/= more significant.in real time - will this fight be bigger or feel bigger than pac-may? or sweet pea-chavez ? or sweet pea-oscar? or oscar-tito? hell even cotto-margarito?

Dudes just too stuck in the past. This is probably the biggest fight in boxing in 80% of us adult life time (assuming everyone is under 40 yrs old). That still isn't the question being asked. Bigger =/= more significant.
Let me put this into perspective for you. Mayweather-McGregor was a 'bigger ' fight than Canelo-GGG 1, even though Canelo-GGG 1 was more significant for the sport of boxing itself.
Spence-Crawford would crown the first undisputed WW champion in close to 40 years, it is without a doubt a more significant fight than any of the ones you mentioned, STRICTLY SPEAKING 147 alone.
you yourself just mentioned mccrory vs curry - that is the last 147 undisputed unification but was it bigger than a fight like oscar vs tito? That still isn't the question being asked. Bigger =/= more significant.
