Explain...
My predilection is based on recession cycle. It tends to be every 10-15 years. Last year, although artificial in its creation, would probably have occurred this year.
We keep prolonging a massive recession due to keeping interest rates artificially low. I say 15-20 years because I believe we are going to hit a massive recession, most likely a depression in 2030 due to the convergence of significant national debt mixed with the first rumblings of automation waves taking significant American jobs.
Dystopia won't occur overnight, rather it will occur due to increasing social unrest due to not being able to find gainful and sustainable employment for large swathes of jobs displaced by automation. Combine that with the increasing environmental degradation that's causing billions if not close to trillions of dollars of damage annually and the ensuing refegees it's going to create.
I've mentioned it in other threads, but UBI in America won't be a thing until this occurs.
