Remember in school when the teachers would tell you you could be the next president, astronaut, or superstar?

Really? Really? Do teachers know how hard it is to become a president, or an astronaut, or a famous rapper/actor

Look at all the bums that are still waiting to blow. Or the females that dedicate themselves to being sexy twitter models (:shaq:), if someone would sit these people down and crush that thinking the world would be a better place.

If poor or lower middle class people were instead taught how to build wealth for generations a lot of todays issues would be resolved. Instead it's YOLO and follow your dreams. I think they do it on purpose to keep the future from ever coming up.

Why aren't we taught to be self-sufficent and find joy in what you have instead of chasing the wind.

Sorry if this belongs in Higher Learning.

chasing your dreams doesn't mean you can't be self sufficient and good with money

the reason people don't teach others to find joy in what they have is because that's a rare skill. most haven't mastered it, so don't implore others to do it. and even if it weren't as rare, how would you propose someone teach that concept?

I think whats wrong was that nobody showed us the path to accomplish our Dreams.

fukking teachers didnt even tell the nikkas when and that we should take the SAT in high school, while they was telling all the whiteys and helping them :eat:

Problem is people tend to chase Dreams that arent meant for them. Find your passion and skill then move.

Not eveybody is gonna be Jordan, you cant be a basketball player if you 5'9. You cant be a rapper if you fukkin suck(well thats subjective nowadays), you cant be a model if you under 5'10 and are covered with tattoos.

People just need to start being more realistic with themselves. And they can accomplish smaller, yet moderately more successful goals and feats.

I wanted to be an architect. Although I've done well for myself, if I could do it all over, I would have studied architecture. :(

:rudy::childplease: There's PLENTY of dudes sub 6 feet that have made the NBA and other professional leagues all over the world.

Anyway, NO the world is not wrong for telling ppl to pursue their dreams. WTH are they supposed to say? "Just fall in line and become a drone to a corporation"

NOTHING has ever been accomplished by someone who didnt have a dream or a goal to be something more. So if everyone just gave up, then where would the world be? There'd be no cars, no airplanes, no TV, no computers, etc.

If you don't feel u have any discernible talents and want to work a menial job all ur life, fine. Go ahead. But it doesnt mean others should adhere to ur mindset.

My only issue is, people need to realize that chasing ur dreams does not = being a mulimillionaire. It can, but not always. If you can make $70K a year following ur dream, that's better than $60K doing something you hate.

The problem with 'success' is that people have too narrow of a definition of success. Most people define it as making a lot of money and having fame. In other words, success to them is something external. To me, success should be internal. If you're handling your responsibilities and you can look in the mirror and actually like the person you see, that's success to me.

One of the hardest things in life to do is accept your station in life. Everyone can't be a "BOSS" but everyone can be happy.

Telling little kids to reach for the stars is fine, but after a while you can tell the best someone will probably do.
