People will have their preferences, tell her it’s no sense in trying to control what others find attractive, as long as you are attentive to her and she’s focused on herself- why is she so influenced by outside factors?
It’s all in the approach. Like I said, those products aren’t overly expensive for her as a college student, which is why I listed them. No matter how much money I make, those are still my go-tos. I’ll treat myself to an occasional expensive but those work so I don’t really need to switch.
I’m dark skinned as well- tell her to preserve herself and embrace her skin tone. We have a natural glow, products enhance what’s already there. If she can’t take constructive criticism, then it’s deeper than a self esteem issue. Treat her to a spa facial- maybe if she sees the before and after she can adopt her own regimen. Vitamin E tablets help too.
Dermatologists can help diagnose skin conditions - at the most if she has severe skin issues with underlying symptoms - she can get a Retinol medicated prescription to clear up. Does she wear make up- how is she removing her make up if she’s not washing? That’s a major issue to skin conditions right there- makeup build up and improper cleansing.
