so many people come out here to make it big in hollywood, then reality kicks them in the teeth. some end up broke, destitute, on the streets; some work dead end jobs, still grinding, going to auditions looking for their big break; some just go home with their tail between their legs.

I wonder how many porn stars originally came to LA to be an actress then somehow ended up sucking dikk on camera. well in a way they are an actress, so

The thing is that in places like Miami, NYC, and LA. You need to have a go getter hustler mentality to come up. Those who are big now had to do whatever it takes, no matter what, networked like crazy, changed their looks and personality to appear more marketable, to achieve their dream. No one is gonna hand you a job on a silver platter smaller cities can.

Next thing they know they're living in a studio apartment the size of closet paying what you could get a house for with no heat in the middle of winter in a building with more weirdos in it than their whole hometown while living off a pizza slice a day.

Tons of people do. Madonna did. Broadway is there. Huge music scene. LA is just a movie TV show town. NY is everything else

about new york, I think people generally know what their getting into when they go to new york. they know its not going to be easy because of the whole "if you can make it there you can make it anywhere" thing. NY has a tough image, LA does not (even tho it should). when people think LA they think hollywood, palm trees, warm weather and all that, so they come here with stars in their eyes, but the truth is LA is even harder than new york
