I think the day of the "go to" producer might be over for a bit, for a few reasons. First, if you check the production credits on most projects now, it's really not that uncommon to see two, three, or even more producers credited to a track. Given, that's mostly because ghost producing is mostly dead now, and producers are rightfully getting credit for their contributions (unless someone just straight up stole their shyt, basically), but still, there's way more collaborative producing than their used to be.

Secondly, the most popular artists are trying to work out semi-exclusive arrangements with producers. Metro Boomin produces for other people, but most people assume he just produces for Future at this point.

Because artists are trying to cuff producers, other producers are just trying to duplicate each others sound. That's why so many of these nikkas sound the same.

But if you were to say someone was the go to guy just based on how many major projects they get credits on lately, it might just be Mike Dean :yeshrug:
