I feel you though because so many rappers fukk with Zay that a lot of them rap over the same beats, but I also feel that a lot of nikkas wasn't fukking with him like that when he was giving Gucci all the heat from 2005-2008

I'll be honest, I don't really check for them nikkas outside of what may get posted on here and what I hear on the radio from em', but I ain't heard a damn thing that holds a candle to no shyt RZA or Premier did back in their hey day. shyt is blasphemous to even compare these nikkas to legends like them.

You know what I think? I think 2 things

We dealing with young nikkas who don't know shyt outside of the last 5 to 10 years of Hip Hop and what they grew up on. So they have no knowledge of shyt that came way before them beause most of them don't give a fukk

And then we got SOME old nikkas that's done settled and just accepting bullshyt too and riding the wave and don't wanna be viewed as the old nikka

So medicore shyt gets pushed and promoted cause don't nobody wanna call the shyt for what it is, cause it's catchy --- fan's/consumer's voice and for the artists ---- it sells. So there's nobody challenging the music and actually push the genre forward with some great music. Just a bunch of "follow the leader" or "simon says" ass shyt. fukk that

I respect that, and tbh i don't know why people compare Zaytoven to producers like Rza and Premier since they're two different types of producers (Samples vs. Instrumentation)

But I'm gonna keep it funky, and you're taking to someone whose first two CDs ever purchased were Flesh Of My Flesh, and Bobby Digital In Stereo, outside of sampling Rza was an average producer. Bobby Digital is a perfect testament to that, and even though I thought the cd was dope, I remember people having mixed feelings about the beats...and I believe the reason was because it wasn't a lot of samples on there so the soul wasn't there


But I feel that the same way Rza gives people that soulful vibe through sampling is the same way Zaytoven gives you that soulful vibe through the piano

RZA is a motherfukker when it come to samples and knowing how to cut and chop samples. He a scientist with that shyt. He learned a lot from Marley Marl and Prince Paul with that shyt. A damn genius with with a basement demo sound in his heyday. shyt was dirty, live.and soulful as hell!

Premier is a master of the boom bap and those damn scratches and chops. Premier can take 2 seconds of the illest shyt you've ever heard, chop that shyt and make something new out of a collage of samples. He takes the smallest detail and and makes it bigger.
