and your economic aspirations are an act of war, war isn't just direct violence, we're at war right now which is why Black males are the most incarcerated group on the entire planet. Name 5 (a relatively small number) Black people in power right now acting on behalf of Black people in America.
It is a non-violent act or war, but it's one that has to be respected. The system is in place. It's just a matter of us learnin' it & usin' that knowledge. To destroy the effort I'm talkin' about, they'd have to destroy their own system. What are they goin' to do? Not allow Blacks to major in economics, finance & entrepreneurialism? Not allow Blacks to read books on the subject? Not allow Blacks to invest? Not allow Blacks to open businesses & hire?
I can't name 5. That's why I say we have to think collectively.
the most important power that this system has is it's power to inflict direct violence, we spend more on our military industrial complex than anything else, because if all the indirect violence fails, the direct violence won't.
Agreed, which is why I don't believe violence is the answer. If it's anything they've mastered, it's the art of war.
I also believe that much of their power outside of that is an illusion. By that I mean money spent is almost as powerful as bein' wealthy. We have current power that we don't use. Rich folks can't get/stay rich without folks spendin' money. Blacks spend at a disproportionate rate considerin' population & available funds. We could get some results right now by simply not spendin', collectively. Those with money need to be educated.
theoretically, how would we go about getting powerful Black people to work in unison with the system of white supremacy on behalf of Black people?
Teach money. Teach power.
We have some great minds that have accomplished great things. If folks understood that money was in knowledge of the system and not in jobs, we'd be on our way. If folks understood the collective money builds wealth that individual money can't, we'd be on our way.
If folks understood that it's money that influences government, not votes, we'd be on our way. Government officials don't act on behalf of voters, they act on behalf of financial support. Government officials have a lot of power. They shape the laws that run this nation. If we want the system to act on our behalf, we need the money & officials to do that. Once folks understand this, we're on our way.
Oprah has a station. Cosby is tryin' to get one. Doesn't Puff have a station? We also need cable companies to ensure those channels are carried. Other wealthy folks need to concentrate more on these powerful vehicles. Sell less entertainment & liquor and more productive material.
There are 100+ HBCUs. Make money a requirement/prerequisite just like math, science, history, etc. I've been sayin' students should combine economics, finance or entrepreneurialism with other majors, but these schools could make one of those required minors, or subminor... somethin' that gives every student a basic knowledge of how money works. Maybe do the same with the basics of government. Basically, make school a product of power rather than a trainin' ground for jobs. Feature all of these vehicles of power... money, government, media, law, etc.
In general, provide productive information. Show what options are available, because many have a narrow perspective. Provide better options than marchin' & protestin'. Do the math for corner hustlas, for example. Show them that chump change they makin' is no more than the cop harassin' his ass is makin'. Show him that money he would make as a cop could be invested in the stock market, a security business, whatever, and grow with more certainty & more safety than his rise in the drug game. Now, one less white cop in the hood brutalizing folks. One more brotha as a powerful civil servant with legal income to invest.
