That's because the bulk of the DNA of Mexicans and Ecuadorians have is Native American. However, you really can't call them Native American. Though, lots of Mexicans take serious pride in their indigenous heritage.

Latin America has a really interesting history when it comes to race, color, and the mixing of such two things.

However, contrary to popular belief, not all Latinos have African admixture.

Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Belize, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama have some of the highest concentrations of Blacks and Latinos with African admixture.

Whereas, places like Mexico, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile usually do not (You'll find Blacks but, it's a very small percentage; not as significant). Those countries are much more likely to have a higher percentage of indigenous people and people with indigenous admixture.

However, Argentina has more of a population that has more of an European Spanish admixture.

Brazil is kind of evened out though.

Mexicans have African ancestry. Its usually small. Somewhere around 2-3% of their blood is African. But there are some that have higher percentages than that obviously.

You really can't say which is better because neither is a monolithic group. Both are mixed to different degrees. Now culturally you could put one over the other depending on your preference. I happen to get along more with Dominicans because that's what I grew up around. It's all white people and Dominicans here. Nah. Can't really put one over the other looks wise. Latinos with more African blood tend to age better though, and that's across the board.

Some interesting stuff. Her Puerto Rican side of the family married their first cousins to keep their white blood.

Michelle Rodriguez is 72.4% white and 21.8% black.

as I said in many Coli/SOHH threads my Mom, Sis and one Bro could easily pass for Black yet I look like my father's sides of the family which has plenty of blonde and green eyes members

so my race is White yet my mother is Black? I always chose to ignore those question in questioners because although Latino/Hispanic is literally not a race is the one thing that easily explains us as a whole

Honestly if someone didn't tell me they were PR at first I'd just assume they were probably from another Caribbean island. People do have this misconception of what particular people from a specific area looks like. That's why I smh when I hear some of these self hating hispanics proudly exclaiming their Latin origins not realizing that it has nothing to do with their genealogical makeup.
