Is there a such thing as a good coach with a terrible team?

I think Bret Brown and Brad Stevens have potential. Sixers were playing well until the front office made Brown tank...and Stevens had the Celtics scrappy, they just need a lot more talent.

Adelman is the first that comes to mind. Not this season though, he and the team underachieved. Brett Brown seems like he's going to be a cellar dweller coach for a couple of more seasons.

But in the NBA the coach is there to manage egos and really nothing more. Unless it's Pop, who actually runs offensive sets.
