I'd say education is the closets way you can measure smartness. And that's not very accurate because I know a grip of people dumb as fukk with degrees.

Plus, you got street smarts, as well as common sense which should also be factored in

I'd say getting a degree in Math or Science are a measure of smartness :yeshrug:

I recently heard a story about this guy in Korea that I felt was pretty "smart".

Korea is still divided and around the border area, there are some parts that had landmines all over.
No one wanted to even touch these parts until this one guy came through and snatched them up mad cheap - like $3 per 100 sq ft.
His reasoning, people heard later, was that the military must have planted landmines in the area because they were the most direct paths to North Korea and he wanted to play a long game betting on the unification and the dirt cheap price (no risk basically since he only invested around 60 grand for like 20 acres).
A few years later, the govt came in and got rid of all the landmines for free and wanted to build a sightseeing/memorial park in the area to build momentum and mood for unification.
Dude sold the land for $4 mil and cashed out. The ROI was ridiculous and all it took was common sense and some out of the box thinking.
