Even the groups that had a similar ethic like X Clan, Dead Prez, Poor Righteous Teachers and so forth weren't close.

yea but all those groups were from way back in the day. I'm talking about generations later. thats why I said in the past decade. Has anyone even ATTEMPTED this?
Definitely not. I was using the closest ones I could think of, who were contemporaries of PE, to say not even the closest ones were that close.
Nothing in the past 20 years is even in the neighborhood.

I really think now more then ever there should be resurgence of this. It worked in the past. The lane is wide open.

its not a conspiracy if nobody has even tried.
Cause the point of view of a Chuck D or a Professor Griff is considered 'boring' and 'lame' for talking about pro black stuff in music. Its all about Drill the opps, stunt on hoes, brag about money you don't have, and a large IG following.

Literally 75% of TLR on this fourm is about how fukked up everything is. Those threads get the most traction.
There's a million people getting paid off YT with the same talking points.

Public Enemy is still doing shows those same rappers you're talking about could never do.
There is way more hip-hop popping then Drill. Drill is probably the least successful sub-genre of rap by all metrics.
Drill is a newer subgenre anways...ded prez was from the 90s.
I'm not a conscious rapper. I am fully on the non violent, bohemian type time, but my thing is just barz. Battle rap type shyt.
But I have always dreamt of usage of our beloved Hip Hop which echoes the slave times where the music was code for revolutionary action.

A book can be burned/banned and no one would be able to recite it word for word. But if there was a rap song that had all the important info and was mad catchy.. you'd only have to play it so may times for people before they could memorize it and later teach it to others. Even if every copy of the original was erased, the message could live for centuries.
Just like old Black church songs.
I'm saying that in music, so many external forces like record companies and radio stations are programmed to shut anything down that enlightens the black population. They made knowledge as 'lame'
