Is there any city where all races get along better than they do in Houston?

i don't really believe that

houston is racially diverse but nyc is more ethnically diverse
Depends, because Houston has the most diverse black ethnicity population in the United States as well, as far as American blacks combined with Black immigrants from Nigeria/Jamaica/Ghana/Kenya/Ethiopia/Eritrea

I could see NYC having a wider range of Hispanics, but even with that you can't sleep on Houston because it's plenty of Salvadorans, Hodurans, Cubans, Argentineans and Columbians (a lot of black Columbians down here), but they are overshadowed by the sheer number of Mexicans we have.

Asians are mostly Viet, followed by Filipinos, then Chinese, and a few Southeast Asians (never met a Japanese person in my whole life in Houston)

Then all the Indians/Arabs/Persians

Just because it’s diverse down here..
Doesn’t mean people get along:skip:
The racism is very passive aggressive unless you are in River Oaks, Bellaire, Woodlands,Upper Kirby, Washington, Memorial,Downtown..
I could keep going with the list..
After I graduated from Elsik in ‘99..
I had friends one year behind that started noticing tensions between eses and brehs..
Hastings seem to be like too before I graduated and after..
Most of my class was Nguyen’s..
But my homies graduations was a bunch of Gonzales:skip:
Plus Houston can be very segregated..
Pasadena,Galena Park, Towards Almeda Mall (San Jacinto CC), Hillcroft, S. gessner, Chimney Rock, are mainly Hispanic..
The Trey, South Park/Sunnyside, Hiram Clarke, Fondren, West Bellfort towards Welch, Sharpstown, Mo City where brehs reside..
I live in the SWAT(Southwest Alife Texas)..
Which I would say is the most diverse place in the city just because a Vietnamese family could be living next to a Hispanic family which could be living next to brehs which could be living next to middle eastern..
Sugar land is mostly whites and asians/East Asians..
Stafford is pretty diverse..
But it’s pockets and enclaves of certain segments of certain demographics like any other place..
Katy is diverse but that’s a garbage ass city:pacspit:
People tolerate each other down here but you can :mjpls: in certain spots..
But the size of Houston is so big..
I’ve lived here on and off since ‘89 and I sometimes shock myself when I see a different part of town..
Plus transients from other states and gentrification is hitting hard down here due to the fact you can have a mini mansion down here for cheap compared to anywhere else..
So a lot of the:mjpls:(cacs included)are moving here bringing that goofy shyt from different states..
But you can tell the real from the fake just like when I go back to The Bay every summer..

I mean the Southwest has always been split into 3 parts. Braeswood/West Belfort/Airport is the black part, I just call that "Fondren Southwest", then sharpstown up to Chimney Rock, you know that's the Mexican SW, and then Alief being a mix up of everybody trying to get away from other poorer parts of the West.

But really Bissonnet is the line through the Southwest, you know black tend to live on or below Bissonett/Braeswood and Hispanics/Asians tend to live above it.

I just looked up the demographics of Houston and the city is 44% Hispanic and probably growing. So basically it will soon be another LA?

Possibly, but Houston black population is refusing to be driven out the city and Houston's Hispanic population is a bit more diverse than LAs, with a decent amount being black Hispanics or being from groups that really don't fukk with each other like Mexicans and Salvadorans.

For example Hispanic have the numbers but don't have more political representation than blacks or even Asians when it comes to politicians down here. And I don't think that's by accident.

White people in Houston really don't like Hispanics, like no bullshyt, I've said this before but they'll honestly give a black person an opportunity before they give a "non-white passing" hispanic an opportunity. I have my theory on why that is, but it is what it is.

Hispanics look like they have weak holdings in politics in most cities except Miami.

Midwest/East Coast/Tx (Now in Canada)
Ethnic Lies =/= diversity.
Indians and Chinese + cac ethnic groups that are not counted as anything but white in the us is the game they play...along with giving arabs nonwhite "visible minority" status. Basically checklisting and categorizing people that are the same thing when push comes to shove.
Racially? Not diverse at all, by a longshot.

I agree that Houston has a more diverse Asian population. NYC is virtually all Chinese (and Korean sprinkled in).

I disagree that Houston has a more diverse black population than NYC. To be honest I don’t even see it being close.

This is a study done around cultural diversity, which breaks race down into ethnicity and nationality. Imma be honest I just found it, it had Houston coming in second behind Jersey City, then NYC at third.

2018’s Most Diverse Cities in the U.S.

List would have made more sense if they used large cities that represent their metro area.

Jersey City is right across Manhattan and is a tiny city part of the NYC metro area.

If you separate the boroughs, Queens is one of the most diverse places in the world with the most languages spoken in one area. Queens was also the most diverse place in the world but that was ten years ago idk that still data is still true. Queens alone has a similar population to the city of Houston.

Queens has more languages than anywhere in the world — here's where they're found
