No it because of IG. Atlantic been had her and had to smooth her Stripper turn Rapper transition with L&HHBut she got on becuz of L&HH
Soulja Boy, love him or hate him changed how we consume music. He started all that ringtone nonsense and spurred 100’s of crank dances regardless of if you like them or not. He made all his music out of his house.
Cardi had the VH1 nobody stimulus package through whichever of those shows she was on. She’s essentially a social media rapper. She is charismatic, those of you saying she’s not are being obtuse. Just because she’s a stripper and sexual (ignore the fact that these women’s jobs are to hustle) does not equal charisma. She’s a genuine person even if you don’t like her genuineness. She’s a lovable ratchet lol. That’s what she’s got. They could have given anyone her songs, but she just has it (and a built in fan base).
That being said, both made trash music. I’m not a fan of hers, but I salute her. Soulja Boy’s more talented in my opinion though.

the whole point of this thread is the difference between Cardi and Soulja Boy. Your personal opinion of his music doesn’t change the fact that he’s done more as an artist than she most likely ever will.

Both of them make garbage music but it remains to be seen with Cardi what her impact will be. Soulja Boy helped revolutionize the game but he's a footnote at this point
