Soulja Boy was 10x successful as Cardi B, and probably had a bit more talent

I wonder if drugs did him in or people tried to regulate him to being a teen rapper? Of anything he is more talented than yachty so it will be interesting
to see where yachty is in 5-10 yrs

Soulja Tsung?

That dude was out here stealing styles like it was the thing to do, back when people cared about that. Now everyone raps damn near the same though.

I only say he had a bit more talent because some of his hits were organic

I'm sure the drugs contributed but there was a point in time where it looked like he was progressing as an MC....then he pissed all that away

Soulja man produced and made his own hits/dumb ass dances from his crib that he hustled himself when clown shyt like that wasn't the wave.
Cardi got good ghost writers from Atlantic, mad industry looks already and a army full of dikkriders.
She is more like Bow Wow on ratchet steroids.

Soulja did well and was bumpin out the gate but he was kinda taken as a jokey/wild character when he hit main stream(yah bicht yah, I just got some bathin apes, Stanroy) He had hit after hit but was a complete unknown before Crank Dat Soulja Boy.

He also had wiiiiiiiiiiillllllld people jockin his style and his swag and making crank dat’s and dressing like him. People loved him or hated him with some going as far as saying he killed hip hop and others saying he was hotter than Jay & Wayne.

He ushered in a whole new era of music and in large part changed how it was consumed as well, all things considered.

The real knock on Soulja is his persona and unwillingness to grow as a person along with his success. He wants to be the hoodest nikka around so bad and by anecdote has passed or missed opportunities to be “the next will smith” and bishop in juice. He just be getting into and doing such dumb crazy sht it’s impossible to side with him. Also the Soulja Tsung allegations and the collapse of the original SODMG. He tries to brand himself a certain way but in that he just leaves it up to whether you like him personally or not.

Cardi on the other hand was relatively known and had a pretty sizable and widespread fan base as well as somewhat of a body of music and main stream exposure before having her first big hit. She since been putting out hit after hit and has everyone talking about her. She’s done, and more than likely will continue to do, crossover into the Spanish speaking market and has become so big and, while remaining hood af, she was approached to collaborate with what might be music’s biggest act right now in Bruno Marz, further ingratiating herself in the main stream of international pop culture. So now she’s in pop, hip hop, and their Hispanic counter parts. That’s 4 different markets that are big sL

Her competition is different too as she’s really only being mentioned with Nicki and nobody mentions her in comparison to men, who she’s doing way better than all of, so she doesn’t have any boundaries in terms of opposition or what people see as alternatives to what she’s offering.

She has a known, boisterous, bombastic, loud, funny, humble, relatable personality that she doesn’t hide regardless of the setting and she’s gotten in front of the right people who eat it up.

Id actually compare Fetty Wap to Soulja and think that’s much more accurate in terms of freshmen vs sophomore success and career out look. Told my boy this a while ago and he was:damn::sadcam: but tell me nah :francis:

TL/DR:
YOOOOOOOOOUUUU =/= Trap Selena

She was put on to continue the fukkery with woman in hip hop.

The people in charge will most see that Cardi is next up and the next big hip hop harlot.

Sex sells...

She's a plant to replace the "Nikki Menage" model of hyper-sexuality thats being programed into young women of today.

I hope you dont think she got on because of "talent".

Notice you dont see a any woman of virtue being promoted in rap?
