I wonder if a lot of these dudes get finessed by "investment opportunities" that are set up by the mob.

Most athletes need to invest into how to be financially stable. Learninng the stock game is easy as fukk. fukk paying someone to tell u what to do with your money.
There's nothing to learn really. Just buy $SCHD, $DGRO, $VOO, $SPY, or $VTI. Hell buy all of them. Index funds have made investing brainless. The real issue is it doesn't matter how much money you give a person having access to more money doesn't teach you how to live off less than you make and manage money.

The coli: learning the stock market is easy!!!

As if nobody has ever lost money in the stock market.

:mjlol:

I didn't know this whole time I was posting among the black Carl Icahn and Ray Dalio on here.

:dead:

Having money, and keeping money are different things.

This board is like that Sky is the Limit song by Biggie.
"I'm sewing tigers on my shirts, and alligators. You wanna see the inside? Huh? I'll see you later"

The stock market and crypto is easy. Just tell your financial advisor to put it in a mutual fund. Word? How much money have you made?

If I had NBA money, right from when I left college, with the lifestyle that came with it, I'm 98% sure I'd go broke. 2% would be some miracle that I wouldn't be consumed by that life and all the folks pulling at my monetary limbs from each and every angle, and I'd only have a penny to show for it.

Just have to understand that the lifestyle you have while playing is the not same one you'll be able to afford after you retire.
People mess up living like they will be in league forever. Turning down millions of dollars for some shiny hardware instead of thinking to the future.
That extra 5 million will come in handy a lot more 10 years down the road, than that accolade you got .

The simplest analogy is your health. If you don’t take time to educate yourself on an appropriate diet, exercise, family history you will become flabby and sick eventually.

The Republican Party has a current need for big named, small brained jocks like Herschel Walker, Tommy Tuberville, Royce White ... so a new option is there for guys who didn't take their education all that seriously.
