Nobody has an emotional tie to cyclops’ original portrayal that a new presentation of him would cause an uproar. At ALL. It would be welcomed.

jim lee changed his presentation from that stupid blue bodysuit and everyone loved it. He is the perfect character to modernize.

When you factor in merchandise sales (which does matter), Spidey has them all beat. He’s the only one of that list where you can easily tailor the storyline to meet all demographics.

Ain't that just as of maybe 2014-2016 though when that started? I doubt Spiderman was always the highest selling in terms of merchandise.

It's analysis of Google searches. Which makes sense it would change based on a recent movie/TV shows. Wolverine has been out of the mix as far as that goes for a few years and his name seems only as big as his last project.
Spider-Man and Bats are the big 2 and it would take a long absence from having successful movies TVV show for them to fall out of the top 2 spots. Three and below seems to be a Slave to what is poppin' in movies and TV. Comics aren't a big factor because too small a % of the population reads them.
