they just say that cause more people got money nowadays....being tougher to the older generations means growing up with less

Um, this is the poorest people have been since "The Great Depression".

Black people have actually gotten poorer in relation to White people over the past 30 years

Less people getting killed doesn't make you soft

The rest of that shyt is not based upon any facts

People were killing theirselves for reason that were considers pretty weak back In the day too

Please, elementary kids were having water hoses and dogs sicced on them during the Civil Rights era and not killing themselves.

Ask all those kids who were integrating schools if killing yourself was an option.

have you ever worked in schools?

in our day the kids who got bullied could wait for the bell and do what they wanted. they got a little respite, at least. now they can never leave the social circle. they go all day getting made fun of, maybe physically harmed or threatened, then if they manage to get away or even just get on the bus home, they get text messages and phone calls in the same manner, then they get home and get their inbox and feeds flooded.

the kid who gets picked on today has it much worse than the ones before him.

also they've never lived in an internet-free world, the internet is very much an integral part to their existence much of the time. so to us, we can differentiate between message boards/facebook/twitter etc and our real lives. to them, it's like removing an arm, they don't know how to live without these things as easily because they've never done it by default.

call kids who kill themselves weak brehs

Then that's what makes them weak.

If losing the internet would be like "losing an arm", then you are by default SOFT.

That'd be like me killing myself because my mama took my Super Nintendo or something.l

but its more accommodating and inclusive.

you can't have it both ways.

A LOT of us were definitely outliers 40 years ago.

So, fukkin' what?

Black people are poorer, less organized, more obedient, and less healthy than we were 40 years ago.

Man, this generation is 10 times more powerful and ready compared to the generation before.

It wasn't them who created a worldwide trending topic/meme getting Paula Deen outed.

Wasn't them who started a protest on Twitter that lead to the streets in NYC and LA after Trayvon.

This generation is crazy powerful and wayyyyyyy more bold than people in the 80s.

We are the entrepreneurs who will make the black community much stronger. Our knowledge of tech and social media will take us to wayyyyyy farther heights and create a social inclusion and solidarity the generation before couldn't pull together.

We are the scariest generation by far. We don't need to be black panthers because we are intellectually and technically sound enough to get things accomplished while or ancestors didn't have that same ability.

We may not fight white oppression as "hard" as people in the civil rights movement, but that's because we are too busy making our own and I think that's good. At this point I think everyone's a little hopeless on changing white people so we are doing our own thing.

Can't change other people so we are focused on changing our selves and having a fun time doing it. :wow:

Oooh, you can get outraged about dumb shyt on Twitter, but what's come from it?

Have any laws changed other than "gay marriage"?

Black people are poorer, schools are worst, and I don't see all these upwardly moblie young people you're talking about. .

This generation is going to be the first generation in history to do worst than their parents.

George Zimmerman's still alive? Why?

Paula Deen is back and about to weather all that shyt? Why?

nikkaz damn near tore L.A. apart over RODNEY KING!!!

Imagine if Rodney King was a 16 year old kid murdered by Zimmerman and Zimmerman got away with it?

nikkaz wouldn't have not just went on Twitter to "vent" and organize a protest.

Every generation says the one after it is soft. It's an extremely stupid viewpoint.

I seriously doubt that people called the World War II/Great Depression generation SOFT

:comeon:That sounds good, but how does Jose the illegal immigrant go from not speaking english fresh from the border, to a homeowner and business owner in 5 years???

That's the dumbest thing I've heard.

With your logic, how does Taniqua buy a lottery ticket and become a millionaire in a week?

That shyt aint common.

Latinos have the LOWEST worth.

Even lower than Black people

They only make 65% of what White men make, in comparison to Black men making 75% of what White men make

The "Model Immigrant Minority" myth is a LIE, ask Tim Wise.

I hate to admit it because its so fun...but violent music that we've embraced has probably led to more indirect violence than any other form of media I can ever think of.

Especially when music adheres to this claim of "authenticity" above all other forms of media.

You've literally got dudes trying to show how "real" they are by adhering to tall tales in their rhymes.

Kinda have to respect dudes like Drake who come out and say "when I wake up, I don't have to fake who I am or remember to be someone else"

Dude, crime started to go down the year Snoop's "Doggystyle" came out and has continued to go down ever since.

Crime was higher when Black people were listening to Disco and Gladys Knight, than it is today with "gangsta rap"

You have noticed that also? I think it has something to do with the

abortion we've been habing over the past 30 years.

the black population is stagnant
while every other racial group population is increasing.

That's because of immigration.

If Africa was next door and we could invite all of our brothers, sisters, and cousins to come here and live and undercut American wages, there'd be a lot more of us as well

It's raining and it's cold outside. Schools already declared cancelled.

When I was growing up you didn't find out unless you were watching the news at 6am.

Then once you saw that your school was closed you'd celebrate with ya siblings like you're at a NFL draft party :stopitslime:

If anything I'd say the nikkas born in the 70s/80s are the softest generation of all. Worst generation definitely who have not really done anything to help the (black) community or world progress positively.

Crack babies/dealers
Heavy reliance on religion
Peter Pan syndrome is heavy in this generation
Homogenous identity, everyone's afraid to be themselves cause their trying to fit into an image
A glaring, non-stop love for MJ, Prince, Rick James, and other early R&B artists even though they are all feminine and androgynous as fukk

90s generation and later maybe considered "soft", but in the end will have much larger, more positive impact on the world than those born 70s-late 80s. There's nothing stand out, stand up, or strong about that generation's accomplishments, or lack of, at all.

Granted there are some valid differences, but who can you really blame when its the parents born in the previous generation that's being hyped that are making the so called "soft" generation. :yeshrug:
agreed how can they say our generations soft when the previous generations single handedly destroyed the black community by being super thugs/wannabe pimps selling crack and being whores?? these motherfukkers got to caught up In the street life instead of building shyt and keeping the community going now its starting to catch up with us its a shame I really hope our generation can patch things up before its to late.

I don't think you know what soft means.

There's a difference between getting caught up in bad shyt and being soft.

You can be immoral and hard or moral and soft.

Agreed, our era that we grew up in had crack, AIDS, and all that crazy shyt, but we weren't soft.

If there was a fight between us and y'all, we'd win, even if half of us are straight :flabbynsick:

Most of y'all would slit your wrists the minute we started talking shyt and accuse us of bullying you.
