What does that mean "play"? There are women who could be decent spot-up shooters like a very bootleg version of Kyle Korver or something, but they'd be a massive liability as two-way players.

Like in tennis, the top female servers can actually occasionally ace the best male players (as I saw Serena do to Djokovic in the Hopman Cup), but they'd still lose 6-0, 6-0. It's fun to watch mixed doubles though, as other major sports don't really showcase men and women playing each other in any capacity.

SPOILER: The women can't compete at all and these are championship-level women. Just compare different Olympic records between genders and it becomes quite apparent. I have no doubt that a women can shoot with the best, but it's all the other athletic elements that I'd be concerned about.

To answer OP, professional basketball players are too strong, fast, and athletic for women bballers to compete consistently. I'm sure you can find a woman that can hit some spot up jumpers, but her getting open alone would be a task in-of-itself.

A female world champion soccer team got blown out by some random boys team, in a sport where height isn't a huge factor. Oh yes find me how many 6ft - 6ft3 females would play against athletic dudes such as Westbrook, Wall, Dame, Curry, etc. Not even a spot up shooter. What's the purpose of having you on the team if dudes will continue scoring over you? What kind of coach would have liability like this at the biggest basketball league in the world? Not even as a shooter would they make, something people ignore is the smaller ball they play with. Give them an NBA ball and they won't be a knockdown shooter.

Back in Highschool when I played ball the team would have a shoot around before practice, a couple brehs went into the girls locker room and brought out they balls. Everyone was knocking shyt down all the way out to 30ft. Coach finally came out the locker room and saw us shooting for about 30 seconds and asked for a ball. Creh started saying he knew something was up cause we couldn't shoot for shyt and made us run suicides for about 5 minutes
