Is there any reason to still own a Blu ray player?

Forgive my ignorance but why are you happy to watch 20 yr old Blu ray drama movies? I ask because I would think Blu ray is good for graphic intensive type movies or current movies

:mjtf:

Blu Ray is a storage medium with discs ranging from 25GB to 50GB.

4K Blu Rays are from 66GB to 100GB.

You are getting lossless audio and the best version of the movie possible.

With 4K Blu Rays, you're also getting the benefit of HDR or Dolby Vision.

And the movies on my Plex Server were never released on Blu Ray, they were only released in Digital HD formats, 3 Strikes and How to Be a Player being the exception

There is. Streaming services often lose rights to films depending on licensing. Plus the compression on Netflix or Disney+ for 4k is awful.

But I'm extra about these things.
