Damn, it gets like that in America? :picard:

That's normally what you have to do in developing countries. When I'm in India for example I never drink from the tap, that's booking yourself a ticket in the toilet for the next several days for sure. If you're lucky it will just be vomiting and diahorrea, if you're unlucky you can get seriously sick. You know a place has bad tap water when even the locals don't have the immune system to deal with it!

Also in India you never get ice with your drinks at a bar or restaurant, because it's likely the ice was made from tap water.

What if you have company/guests over?

I'm sure they aren't drinking from the faucet.

Yeah they do, we don't think twice about it over here because the tap water is perfectly safe. I'm honestly surprised that America doesn't have safe drinking water from the taps. How can your country and your government have so much money but not fix the water supply?

Bottled water is only really a thing if you're travelling. Or if its a really hot day, you're out, and you want cold water.

Some people like to drink sparkling water and for that I would get bottles, but personally I don't like it, it feels somehow dehydrating to me. The fizziness of it. I find that regular tap water, or if I have to get a bottle then mineral water, is what works for me. And if a guest wants mineral water then the tap water is the same thing basically.

During pandemic all the water gone except that shyt !

Tonic water contains quinine. Quinine was discovered as a malaria cure, and tonic water was invented as an easy way for Europeans in India and Africa to consume quinine during the colonial era. Because it tasted foul they would mix alcohol with it, hence the cocktail gin and tonic
