Is there anything worse than being trapped at a dead end job, with no plan to leave.

Sometimes it’s procrastination.

As a kid your life revolves around making it to June - September. As an adult, it revolves around making it to whenever your days off are. Then it revolves around making it through your shift. Then you simply get tunnel vision.

Then you be like 2022 gonna be my year. I’m gonna make some changes and get focused.

By March 2022, you already feel defeated. Then you push it back to the summer. By July, you push it to the end of the year. By October you day 2023 gonna be my year, I’m going to brush it off and really make it happen. Rise, repeat. Next then you know, it’s 2030 and you’re wondering what the fukk happened. Time keeps moving whether you move with it or not.

This was definitely the case from 2014 to 2021. The years blew by. I’m back in school now :francis: I seriously sat down and wrote down a 10 year plan and I’m taking it day by day to execute :yeshrug:

Nothing worse.

I’ve been there. Obviously the pandemic is probably the worst thing to happen in my lifetime besides 9/11, but it literally helped me get out of that cycle. I would still be stuck at some bullshyt place otherwise.

what people don’t realize is that jobs like that pay you an amount of money that make it impossible to afford to be able to leave.

I’m college educated, but I was a dumb fukk clearly.

they didn’t take high school seriously, but graduated.

they celebrated graduating, but never thought about the next chapter.

they treated their 20’s like they were still in high school without the classes or homework.

they took any job that paid and it made them feel like an adult. They can proudly say for the first time “I’m a grown ass man/woman”

responsibility is like a foreign language, or that class they got a S in.

Now they’re between 28 - 35 and reality is starting to set in.
Aye fukk you

44 bricks...acre shaker
And comfortable at the same time. No will to grow, no new skills acquired. Low single digit percent annual pay raises and you feel in control because you learned how to occasionally get over and not get fired.

Eventually, you feel like you have imaginary tenure. You can’t get laid off no matter what. You’ve given 5 years of your life and no savings and your new raise finally gets you close to making $15.00 an hour.

people talk about freedom this and freedom that, but how can you be free if you’re a slave to work and bills?

The only people who are free are the ones who can afford to not waste time working.
