To be fair. Most people here never listened to Gucci and many don’t even like Jeezy. Gucci is more relevant today than most of the music that drives traffic here, like Griselda or whatever else.

This has always been an east coast favored forum. Some west coast love too. Very little respect for the south outside of old shyt like Outkast. But even stuff you’d think the Coli would fukk with like Starlito get overlooked. So as the south continues to dominate, and drill continues to do great...interest in new music continues to decline here.

Absolutely, the amount of disrespect the Midwest gets on here time and time again can be :francis:at times.

Coli USED to “break” “new” artists following the great migration from SOHH and a few years thereafter. But for a while there havent been any new artists the coli has broken . When it gets here , it’s usually old and on the verge of getting played out . And if it’s not , the thread gets a few replies and buried on page 55.

I agree with what another poster said , they need to break this shyt up — a new school sub forum that’s strictly about rappers that have debuted in the past 3-5 years and a sub for everything before that ... and an old school 80s forum for the super flattop negroes .

Unfortunately , there’s nowhere near enough traffic here anymore to warrant that kinda split . It’d be crickets in damn near all the other forums except the flattop ones :manny:

A lot of these artists haven't made music in years in LP form.

Registration being closed also is a factor. This forum gets a lot of unique views from the outside, I'm sure there are a lot of new members that would inject life in this forum. Funny how at one time the young heads on forums were fifteen or so, now they're grown

Exactly. If you looking for discussion on new shyt, there's Ktt2, r/hhh etc. I love thecoli but mostly for TLR. Even if you try to post some new shyt, most posters scoff at it and call it trash. It is what it is though.

The people you named are middle children . None are new by any stretch of the imagination . Most of them are in there early to mid 30s and been grinding and/or putting out big releases for a while . Labeled Old heads by the boppers .

I agree with most of this but in no way does a higher age have anything to do with not listening to new artists or types of music.
Not for everyone but generally it does. The older you get, the more your responsibilities usually increase, less time to invest into new interest because you have work, family, home duties you have to attend to that’s far more important than being up to date to the newest music. You’re not going clubbing, partying, hanging out where is how the average person gets introduced to what’s hot and what’s the new shyt poppin. The older you get, the more likely you’re going to stick to what you’ve been listening to/like. That goes from music to tv shows to food.

Younger people, in general, are often partying, hanging out, and are more in tune with what’s happening outside. That lends itself to being introduced to newer music and just cultural changes in general.

The year 3030
As someone pointed out forum are flabby and outdated. But it's crazy how the outside world is finally catching on to the lingo that's been used on rap forums for over 15 years. Simp and Stan are two terms that I recently saw on social media that caught me by surprise.

stan is the funniest one...i been hearing it on non hip-hop/music podcasts/vids/etc like the last couple of years
