What triggers this is not just a misunderstanding but a developed apathy toward knowledge of self.
They either grow to not care or were raised to not care.
Some think they're just playing for the winning side when they hop the fence.
Some think there isn't a side to play for and they're being human.
Talk to them long enough about the issues and you get to the root of their motivations.
And the root of their motivations is ignorance.
