The one I'm interviewing for I'm hoping to get a $10k increase in pay per year. It's closer to home and it's full-time and they have a good benefits package. The one the recruiter I'm having lunch with is nearly a $20k pay increase but it's only a 6 month contract with no possible extension.
A 10K raise is almost not worth it to me to leave my comfort zone where I am. Besides i can make up that difference easily with bonuses and oncall pay. And 10K increase barely adds ~ $200+ per paycheck if you are single. If it's more driving and coworkers you may not like it's probably not worth it thos still worth looking into

You would be fukked here. That's the number one thing you need to get 99% of hourly jobs.

If you toldMcDonalds you didn't graduate from high school and over 18. They would laugh in your face do this :camby:

As a contractor being a full-time employee is always going to be more valuable, imo. Access to investment opportunities/company matches, cheaper health insurance, etc. So I'm factoring in $10k plus full-time benefits. Same corporate environment and closer to home. It's a win-win for me. Plus I hate where I'm at now.

I just turned down a job this week myself but I'm employed and I applied for this job months ago. The best thing for any black man to do is get skills and keep up with the latest trends in the job market. Even if you aren't looking to leave your company keep your resume current and active in the job market.:youngsabo:
