Well, then, no, you didn't say what I said. I said that people (not just women) have to understand there is the fact that there are bad people out there and they want to hurt you. Because of crappy people in society, we can't do certain things we should be able to do. That has nothing to do with being accountable. Being accountable means that a person is responsible for when another person hurts them. Which is NEVER true.

It's not a child's fault if they surrounded themself with their uncle, and their uncle touched them inappropriately. Likewise it's not a man's fault if he's walking down the street at 3am and he gets raped. BUT just in case he shouldn't go down that street at 3am. People have to take precautions because of others, but it's not their fault, period.

Well here's the thing.... Most rapes happen by acquaintance/date rape. So if a woman is with a man she knows really well and has been dating for a while, what do you say when the guy rapes her?

Also, no, rape will never be stopped, but we can teach our boys what rape is and how not to do it. Honestly some men do not know when they are raping a woman, really.

I'm not trying to pose an endless stream of what-ifs, but family and friends do know rapists. Rapists are not that man lingering in the alley, they're your uncle, best friend, or husband.
