People overhype teams and players after one year, just like they write off players after one season.

You had and have many people acting like Daniels is better than Lamar and already a HOF QB.

I mean, personally Id usually wait 3 years to assess a qb fully

first year, they are played vanilla so they get a chance to surprise defenses and catch the off gurad

second year is the league adjusting to them, scouting their tape, harping on their weaknesses and limiting their strength

then year three is the QB adjusting to the league adjusting. after that you kinda plateau and are what you are as a qb. obviously doesnt apply to all QBs but this been a good measuring stick.

thats why nowadays Im always for QBs playing right away. if they sit too long you might still be in position where you dont fully know what they are and they are about to get paid...
