Considering they have no control of their picks until 2030, they don't really have a choice but to.
No choice but to run it back. Awful ending but still a 50 win team with Kawhi missing half the season. Time to develop some youth and cut out the Ben Simmons, Bodgan, type sh*t and move better outside of the core. If its not Giannis, then there's nobody out there that going to save this team. Can't chase and pay a mid level star who doesn't move the needle one bit $50+ million a season. Those days have to be over with.

Considering they have no control of their picks until 2030, they don't really have a choice but to.
They got some assets that would entice desperate teams like the Sons.

Their priority really should be to go younger now. They were on that Denver mentality (ironic, innit?) that "We just got those nagging injuries, but this is the best squad in the league, we just need to be healthy in the playoffs".

Turns out waiting 5 years for your injury-prone stars to be able to play ain't the wave. :manny:

Clips just don't have what it takes anymore. They can do a quick retool with some clever trades, but they also can't tank because they got no picks and that brand-new state-of-the-art arena ain't paying itself.

Teams desperate to keep their stars like the Bucks or in a similar position of not being able to blow up fr like Phoenix will probably be willing to negotiate on Kawhi and Harden.

I will say that it’s good for them to lose like this without being able to use injuries as an excuse

But considering they don’t have control of their own 1st until 2030, I don’t think tanking is really an option. They don’t really have w choice but to keep making moves on the margin for supporting pieces like they did this past offseason and try again

Yeah the team screwed up royally trading SGA, but its the smaller moves that's hinder the team.. Like choosing a washed John Wall instead of resigning Hartenstein, and then John Wall is released before the all star break. You bring in Harden but PJ Tucker is attached the trade and b*tches about playing time and Ty Lue shelves Kobe Brown and gives minutes to Tucker. You let Moussa Diabate walk and sell the fanbase on Mo Bamba instead and he's released at all star break. You had two dogs in KPJ -who backed up Harden and kept his minutes in the 30 range- and TMann and replace them with dear in the headlights Bogdan and an unplayable Ben Simmons. etc. etc. etc. That's the sh*t this team has to stop doing. You got the core for another year or two tops, do right by them and stop name chasing washed players.
