Martin and Fresh prince definitely

I didn't like the Cosby show much, and everything else is debatable

I think Everbody Hates Chris is a slept on classic though. I hadnt laugh that hard at a black show in forever

I also like A Different World too... And Living Single

Bernie Mac has to be on because the concept was so unique.
A different world because it revitalized the importance of black schools and gives us looking back a glimpse of the black excellence and pride of the late 80//early 90s
fresh prince up to season 4. After that, quality went down but that's my personal opinion.
Cosby Show for obvious reasons, even though…well you know. Showed the world that there were black upper class families who didn't c00n out.
Sanford and Son but I didn't understand the show until I was much older. Lamont Still a ham though.

Honorable mentions:
Wayans Bros
Thea
Smart Guy

The Hughley's (DL my favorite comedian)
Girlfriends

My dude, you just typing to be typing with these bullshyt honorable mention shows. Thea only lasted 2 seasons, how does a non-syndicated show even make it's way into this discussion? Smart Guy, one of the few black shows were I can tell you the actors in it Taj Mowry, Omar Gooding, Essence Atkins :noah: and Jason Weaver but can't tell you their character's names on the show.

ANd GIRLFRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dude did you give props to Desiigner before Future? Cuz I heard no mention of the show it ripped off (Living Single)

One can definitely see the generational differences within this thread when the Cosby show is viewed as :russell: or :usure:

The Cosby show is the ILLMATIC of black TV shows. It did way to much positive for black actors/black culture and it also introduced the image of the educated black middle class family to mainstream America. Set the tone for future black shows were nikkas weren't in struggle/poverty/working class situations (Different World, FPOBA, Living Single etc.) . Give a fukk who finds it funny or not.

Cosby Show
Good Times
(A Different World, as an honorable mention. A good college sitcom STILL hasn't come about IMO).
