Is this the real reason why oldheads hate stats and analytics?

There have always been 2 issues with analytics and the general public

1. People have a way of making an either/or scenario out of everything. It's not analytics OR scouting/the eye test. It's both. It's always been both. And when the analysis disagrees with conventional wisdom, rather than trying to find out why there's a disconnect, people assume the biases are on the analytics and not on the conventional thinking. Because of course people want stats to support their feelings, rather than seeing if their feelings are supported by measurables.

2. People tend to put belief in things they understand. But they also have no desire to understand anything new. With regard to basketball metrics, this basically means the only thing people recognize is points, rebounds and assists. Anything deeper than that and their brains turn into mush.

What these guys are realizing is that nothing will ever be as special as when they were kids/teenagers and idolizing the players, and now they're lashing out lmao

Eddie Johnson played in the NBA, and Draymond literally has won 4 rings in this era. wtf does any of what you're saying have to do with the OP? :what:

17ppg:wow:

But, I'll give Bron a pass simply because he probably thought "I got 2 other stars on the team. I don't have to do as much":whew:

He redeemed himself the next season, realizing he HAS to be the man, no matter how many star players are on the team
