17.2 pts, 6.5 assts, 1.3 stls, on 42.1% FG is "craptacular"?

He only had 2 horrible games:manny:

Game 1: 11 pts on 4-13 FG 2 rebs, 2 assts, and 1 stl
Game 2: 4 pts on 2-8 FG, 6 assts, and 3 stl

From Game 3 thru the end of the series, he played good

Game 3: 25 pts on 11-24 FG, 9 assts, 7 rebs, 2 stls, and 1 block
Game 4: 19 pts on 7-16 FG, 4 assts, and 3 rebs
Game 5: 25 pts on 10-20 FG, 8 assts, 1 reb, and 1 stl
Game 6: 19 pts on 6-14 FG, 10 assts, 5 rebs, 1 stl, and 1 block

And due to Johnson's first 2 games Phoenix lost both at home and fell into a 2-0 hole they couldnt recover from.

Not too mention he had 26 turnovers in the series as well as his FG% being 42%compared to 50% during that regular season

4 Points/6 Assists/2 rebounds 2/7 from the field(28%) 28%TS in 36 minutes. 58 point loss at HOME:leostare:

Where does this rank all time

1st off, I must say, PLATINUM thread :myman:

Ason Kidd's performance was BAD, really, but I think lookin' @ the context of the two players, Paul's game was worse. Paul had just come off his best season, the best season for a PG since either Thomas or Johnson, to top off losin' by almost SIXTY fukkIN' POINTS @ HOME????? :gag: Paul's the better player, so the standards are higher.

Bad Back Peja and $40 Million Man James Posey

This was a legit case of bad cast (none of that Lebron stuff)

I actually missed that game, but, it wasn't a strong team

The FO dropped the ball hard after that Spurs series

Did not build on the success, but, played cheap

CP3 is too friendly most the time. He could take a lesson from Zeke or DRose.

Small players need a complex and attitude with their talents. Zeke didn't give a fucck
and DRose don't wanna be their friends either.

:what: He's a bytchmade flopper, and talks mad shyt. U must be talkin' bout Cliff Paul

I cant argue the 1st 2 games of the series....you're right.

I was just trying to counter argue that he didnt have a horrible series overall, but those first 2 games WERE a major reason they lost.

he's one of the ringleaders of the stat-protecting, PER era.

:rudy:

Chris Paul'll pretty much be a hof LOCK, Johnson'll might not make the Hall :umad:

And if u wanna argue each @ their peak before injuries, '09 Paul gives u everything Johnson ever gave u @ his best, w/ a 3-point shot, rebounding, and much better defense.

kevin johnson can still be off the charts nasty and not be better than chris paul. people always act like you said a player aint shyt when you say hes not better than player a. what did kevin johnson do on the basketball court that was superior to chris paul? there was nothing he did that was better than paul.

This post reminds me of Tim Duncan vs Kevin Garnett. Duncan had the better career and was the more efficient big man, but people take it super far and make it seem like Garnett was a bum when he's still an all time great.

It's funny how extreme opinions has always been a part of sports but is finding it's way into music too. Songs, athletes, games, movies, etc are either AMAZING or Trash. No in between. Sad.

john starks isnt a superstar in comparison, but he went 2-18 against the rockets in the the one of the two finals that the knicks ever made in my life time

and honestly, dirk in the first finals against the series came up mad short and the mavs were a much better team than the heat (probably should have won 5 out of the 6 they played) and they lost it

dirk went 2-14 in game 4 blowout loss

reggie went 1-16 against the lakers game 1/ray allen went 0-13 against the lakers 2010

what is stat protecting? do you just disregard the fact that one player put up virtually the same stats, in way less possessions? is having 10 or so extra possessions to put up stats each game not relevant when discussing 2 individual players around the same level? thats not some small difference. having 12-15% more possessions per game is quite a discrepancy. ive yet to see how exactly kevin johnson is a better pg than chris paul. a guy said kj was a better scorer. yet kj scores less than paul. a guy said kj was a better pick pocketer and passing lane protector. yet kj is running on empty when it comes to all defensive teams, and has way less steals than paul. kj had a great playoff run. thats great, paul has better playoff numbers, kj had a better team. you can like kevin johnson more than chris paul as a fan, but he simply isnt as good as chris paul is. theres really no two ways about it. its about as cut and dry as it gets. if you dont realize how good chris paul is/was, you didnt watch him much when he was with the hornets. some of the best point guard play ive ever seen. guy dissected defenses, and got what he wanted virtually every time down the floor. created mismatches damn near every possession.

3× NBA All-Star (1990–1991, 1994)
4× All-NBA Second Team (1989–1991, 1994)
All-NBA Third Team (1992)

6× NBA All-Star (2008–2013)
NBA All-Star Game MVP (2013)
3× All-NBA First Team (2008, 2012–2013)
All-NBA Second Team (2009)
All-NBA Third Team (2011)
3× NBA All-Defensive First Team (2009, 2012–2013)
2× NBA All-Defensive Second Team (2008, 2011)
2× NBA assists leader (2008–2009)
5× NBA steals leader (2008–2009, 2011–2013)

the first resume is suddenly better, even though it was compiled in 12 seasons while the second resume was in 8 seasons. only thing kevin johnson ever lead the league in is turnovers

That Jason Kidd stat line, damn son :patrice:

I remember :deadrose: pissing me off in that Boston series in game 3, me and this chick in my class were rooting HARD for Chicago and he played like shyt, mind you he had a monster Game 1 and the series was tied after game 2

He wasn't a superstar yet but in immediate recent memory that game sticks out...9 points, 7 turnovers, 28% shooting :snoop:

wtf is it wrong with you coli dudes overrating every player that played in the 90s :dead:

people in here arguing for Kevin Johnson being better than Chris Paul :deadmanny:

Impact wise, they aren't even close to eachother. Chris Paul is a legit top player in the league and a MVP candidate for years. Kevin Johnson, are you guys serious?

He was super fast with crazy jumping ability, He was a better scorer than Chris Paul, better at getting to the rim than Chris Paul, a very good passer, was good at picking pockets and playing the passing lanes, was 1 of 5 players to average 20+ ppg and 10+ apg for 3 consecutive seasons, averaged 10+ assists for 4 consecutive seasons, his 1st 7 seasons on the Suns as the starter...his team won 50+ plus in each season while he averaged 20.0 pts, 10.2 assts, and 1.6 stls on 49.4% FG over those 7 seasons.

Didn't know... :salute:
