I’m not trying to prove anything. You said they’re weak. They’re not. That’s just untrue. Why are they weak? Being NATO affiliated in itself goes against your statement

It's disingenuous. I said France specifically and you brought up NATO. With that logic, even the smallest most insignificant country in NATO has a strong military.

IMMIGRANT TETHERS
it's highly exaggerated

$500 billion dollars a year? still don't get how they came to that number when francophone african economy combine barely touch $500 billion. but people are too stupid to critically think.

If I’m being disingenuous, then you’re straight up just lying or wrong. France is the probably the most equipped military in Western Europe. They are a core NATO member, with their own equipment and nuclear capabilities. What you’re suggesting that they are reliant on American force is wrong.

France has the sixth largest defence budget in the world and the first in the European Union (EU). It also has the largest military by size in the EU. They’re also the only country in the world with a nuclear carrier that’s not the USA. Among other capabilities I’m not going to get into.

I don’t want to derail the topic anymore I just want to point out once again your original statement isn’t factual.

France got humiliated by Germany in WWII, lost to Vietnam, lost to Algeria. The last time they were relevant as a military, black people were in chains. If anything you said was true about France, Macron wouldn't have been cozying up to Russia in the last 3-4 years. They would have been taking a much firmer stance but, they chose diplomacy because they know they're not shyt military wise.

They are reliant on the U.S. The fact you would argue against it is asinine. This is why Macron was in the news talking about Europe needing to build a stronger army after Trump was asking why we should care about non-American interests :camby: If the U.S. wasn't there to play big brother, Russia would have ran over Western Europe.

President Macron has already warned that Europeans can no longer rely on the US to defend them, and he revived the theme on Tuesday, in response to President Donald Trump's decision to pull out of a 1987 nuclear treaty with Russia, banning medium-range ground-launched missiles.

Right from the horse's mouth :camby:

Strong militaries don't rely on the U.S. to defend them :camby:

Top 10 NATO Countries with the Highest Defense Expenditures (by total US$)

  1. United States — 811,140
  2. United Kingdom — 72,765
  3. Germany — 64,785
  4. France — 58,729
  5. Italy — 29,763
  6. Canada — 26,523
  7. Spain — 14,875
  8. Netherlands — 14,378
  9. Poland — 13,369
  10. Turkey — 13,057

If you combined country #2 to country #10, they still wouldn't match the U.S.

I talked about France specifically. You brought up NATO. Which proves my point. If I talk about a country's military, and your first response is to bring up a U.S.-led organization, that says it all. With that logic, all 31 members of NATO have strong militaries.

You’re just arguing to argue.

“FRANCE IS WEAK”

“No they aren’t, they’re a NATO allied super power with one of the most powerful domestic militaries in the world”

“The US defends them :damn:

:mjlol: ok bro you win. If the US didn’t exist France would still be a world superpower and military powerhouse.

You quoted me first :camby:

If I ask if YOU got hands, and your response is YOUR friends got hands, you're weak :mjlol:

It would be closer to: My whole team got hands.

I brought up NATO because that obviously matters when discussing military power and capabilities. You’re the only one that keeps mentioning the US. I’ve explained to you for a few posts after your infactual first statement that France by itself is not weak militarily.

This bolded is disingenuous. The U.S. Is NATO. Otherwise Macron wouldn't have been scared into wanting a European army after Trump threatened to pull out of it. We gonna have to agree to disagree on this one breh. If African Francophone countries really rose up, their success would depend on whether or not the U.S. got involved. I question if the U.S. would want to be seen protecting France's colonial assets. France on their own isn't doing shyt military wise.

I didn't make this thread to debate France's military capabilities.
