Not cap it all if you ask people who work those jobs on a daily basis. It's a reason why the turnover rates are as high as they are and that's not even factoring how there's always someone dying from a workplace accident at Fedex. Only Fedex Pilots are union. Everyone else isn't.

I say that as someone who once lived near Fedex Main Headquarters and heard all of the stories about it and how grueling the job is.

My bad I should have been clearer.
I couldn't do the job I'm sure it's boring as hell and can be strenuous but having managed construction work I know about lifting practices etc.

I was commenting more so on him saying it's like a slave block and that he is clearly over exaggerating for dramatic affect

Can't relate. We were loading w/ forklifts

-more hours
-more downtime
-weekly takeout
-monthly cookouts

Hell of a feeling when the shift over and you see all them ppl who had to toss boxes, clothes all sweaty, Hangin off of em, shirts bacon necked to infinity...

I'm barely getting dust on my shït
Humble yourself and be thankful that you have it good. No need to take pleasure in the suffering of others.

I didn’t know it was that bad lol

If the shyt is so heavy, how do they expect the driver to get it off the truck when he delivers it

Most of the stuff like that is on pallets.
We used pallet jacks. Some people even bought motorized pallet jacks for themselves.

A lot of places at least have a forklift where they can get it off the truck.

UPS was my first job. I didn't like 10pm to 3am with no car. I was at Harvey terminal waiting for like 2 or 3 hours for the first bus. I quit that shyt like 3 weeks letter

He’s not lying. On the first day, the managers do choose who they want out of a lineup.

I was a sorter. The first couple of weeks were so rough that I got sick af. After that it was doable, but still hard work. My feet were tore up and hurt like a mofo

manual labor is for college kids and unskilled young adults.

you dont got time or the energy in your 30s for that shyt
It's funny I know a Black Physics/Engineering professor at a UC school who works at Fed Ex(?) to stay in shape and get the medical benefits (best in the country).

That's pretty smart and kind of sad at the same time. I tried looking for examples of their health benefits online for part time:
I have been working part time at ups for almost 17 years now. It is 100% worth it. Covers you, your SO if married, and your kids if any. My husband has had a few hospital stays and he has been like 99.95% covered, all his meds are covered. I was dx stage 4 colon cancer last year. Treatment at one of the best cancer centers in the world, covered except for 1k. Last year alone was almost 200k worth of bills that were all covered but that 1k.

Wife, kids and stepchildren covered.

Medical, awesome. Had several surgeries in the family.. if we paid anything it wasn’t much, maybe a few hundred here and there for surgeries that cost low 5 figures.
Emergency room may take a hit if you aren’t admitted.. not sure.
Prescriptions, $5 a pop. Doesn’t matter how much they are... $300? You pay 5.

Dental, awesome. Exams, X-ray, fillings, extractions, covered. Dentures and implants, I paid a bundle for that.. but the insurance changed or something with the contract and I got it all back a few months later. Braces are pretty well covered too, but we did hit the max on my kids and ended up paying a bit out of pocket.

Vision, pretty good. And it’s every year instead of every other year like a lot of places. Like $100 off frames and lenses usually covered unless you like extras like scratch resistance and stuff like that. (I somehow still spend like $200 on a pair)

Odds and ends like death and dismemberment insurance.
Mental health counseling you have a co-pay
Quit smoking supplies like gum, maybe patches, one time I think.
Maybe more I’m not aware of

But yeah, it’s worth it, or was for me anyhow. Got a family of 5 through some tough times.

I never worked at Fed Ex, but have at a shipping yard. There are some aspects about it I do miss now, but would hate to have to do it full-time.

All of them are modern plantation slave houses. USPS and UPS all have mandatory overtime for their drivers and you’ll be pushing 60+ hours a week, 6 days a week. The post office even worse because you have no guaranteed days off and can literally work months at a time without a day off. :why:The post office don’t even drug test no more because only someone on meth could do that job. :wtf:UPS was about to strike about being literally worked to death and they really didn’t even fix that problem, they just threw more money at it.

FedEx Express is better to work at than FedEx Ground because Express has benefits and you are actually a full fledged FedEx employee and get paid slightly better unlike Ground which is contracted out slavery just like Amazon DSP delivery. FedEx Express don’t have mandatory overtime outside of peak but they have voluntary overtime, but the wages are so low that you feel like you need to work 60+ hours a week in voluntary overtime to survive and your supervisors might try to get your ass up out of there if you ain’t willing to work slave overtime hours. :sadcam:
