No. Just no. Like others said in the thread, buy a watch from a company that makes watches.

with that kind of budget, I'd buy something off Hamiltion, Mondain, Citizen, or Seiko. Since this will be your first watch, you should get a classic watch that you can basically wear with every thing and for any occasion like these:

Since you guys know more about watches, maybe someone can help me out. I'm looking for a replacement watch. The one I currently have is from the brand Fossil. It's a silver metal watch. It's ok but I think it's run it's course. It's nothing fancy and I'm not looking for anything fancy. Just something basic for everyday use. Don't want anything digital or with no Velcro straps and stop watches on it. Just something that's economical and decent quality. Any brands you guys recommend? I'm trying to maybe stay under the $200 range depending on what the market for watches has been like lately. Something I can get from a local jeweler that looks nice.

I was seriously considering a second hand Omega Speedmaster but settled on this Seiko 5 Automatic Pepsi which was more in my price range. I like the clear caseback so you can see the movement. Gonna put it on a navy/red NATO strap :win:

If you want an automatic watch in $200 range Orient and Seiko is what you need to look at, if you don't mind non mechanical movement also look at Citizen.

If you go up to $350-550 then it really opens up to nicer Seikos and you also get into Hamilton range.
