3-6 mafia, and in particular juice and paul's production, is probably the most influential anything ever in hip hop--without them trap doesn't exist the way it does, and trap has taken over the entire spectrum of popular music. In terms of influence they are so far beyond anyone else it's comical to even consider an alternative imo. Case closed

Funny how everyone wants to take credit for my take.

I am the critic who said.

After it is all aaid and done. Triple six will be the goat producers and most influential as early as mista don't play.

My take is how people got to even post about triple six positively.

They ain't more influential than DJ Screw

Actually they are.
A whole biter based genre had an entire headlining pop explosion called crunk. Based off one triple six mafia record alone.
If not for triple six. No one knows to mine a screw tape as a pop construct.

Three 6 style came from other nikkas. That Three 6 sound yall love so much is Squeeky and Zirķ as much as Paul and Juicy

shyt Three 6 had a Screwed song on their debut album in appreciation. Screw created a whole subgenre of rap

DETROIT (Do Every Thing Right Or It's Trouble)
If you’re talking nationwide I would say no.

It’s almost like they were blackballed in my city, NO Body was playing they shyt anywhere here.

From the south, Miami Bass music had an influence up here in Detroit in the early 90’s. But outside of Project Pat’s Mista Don’t Play album, Three 6 Music never got any play in Detroit, in the Streets or on the Radio. Now outside of the “Slob On My Knob” song that would get a few spins but even that was more so underground. Detroit cats ain’t really feel the Three 6 style of music, why? idk because we definitely listened to OutKast, UGK and 8 Ball and MJG. :manny:

I never said that it did not.
The Issue is culturally. Since both camps of squeeky and zirk. To triple six subscribed to this misappropriated ideal. That allowed flaug'n to take place. That misappropriated squeeky and zirk for triple six. In that misappropriation and alternative culturally awry based practices of both. It opened the license for the gateway origins of squeeky and zirk.
to be misappropriated and biten by triple six.

In that screw never was biten.
then became another entire top drawing mainstream genre from one screw record. in timeline comparison. In the same vein crunk became an entire top drawing pop construct albeit biten from one triple six record.

Starting with fake mr magic tapes called bass as a genre. To create the base of southern rap.
that would segregate from the pop explosion of west coast gangsta rap. to become its own entity separate from west coast music. Similar to the creation of major league baseball having a midwest division. When originally a midwest or southern team was aligned in a western conference. In that separation and independence of being a west coast construct.
derived from miami bass is how southern rap gets its origins as its own region.
In that separation to segregation of the south from west coast gangsta rap

Convicts to dj jimi to screw. Never created an entire pop genre under a misappropriated name. That culturally all those people were on board in general with.
In the same vein that crunk was derived from one triple six record.

There were hordes of screw tapes. Yet not one screw tape or record. Allowed misappropriation of one screw record.
to become an entirely separate draw as a pop construct.

Screw was able to gain mainstream drawing appeal. From the pop boom of crunk. Which again was derived from just one triple six mafia record.
In timeline comparison, screw has never and still never had screw become an entire pop construct from one screw record. Where an entire region gain mainstream pop notoriety. As well as an entire name.
for a mainstream top drawing pop genre.

I really don’t get people saying Geto Boys most influential. Face as a solo artist, hell yea. But that group? Nah. And someone said CMR and that fly shyt. Pimp C had been doing that.
Geto Boys pioneered horrorcore and introspective rap.

Listen to music now. Trap drums in everything: country, pop, kids music, commercials. 3 6 is musically one of the most influencial groups in music history regardless of genre.
