It's the jermaine dupri curse. If you give him control for at least two albums you'll have a classic. Try to branch out after that and become a trainwreck

Don't be cruel was a classic, but it ain't better than confessions.
It would make for a great convo or poll. One could put HALF of that album up against confessions for the win. Plus it's been over 28 years and that album is still aging gracefully. Confessions deserves respect too, it's a hell of an album

I actually took a moment to think about the question asked, then I went through the tracklist and realised the whole album is heat rocks. It was a fitting album and he was building up to it after My Way and 8701.
Not to forget, JT came out with Justified before Confessions and people were hyped off that album (it is a dope album also) but Usher came correct with Confessions...Solid album and went platinum first week.

I've had this debate too, wanted to kill a bytch for acting like confessions was better but after time I became inconclusive about it. Usher is a waaaaaay better vocalist and Confessions is more consistent. HOWEVER don't be cruel's singles/marquee songs will cut confessions to confetti
