ya the reason why I held off on the series after watching the first season when it aired was I felt it was a bit watered down for a series about a group as notoriously violent/destructive as the vikings…then I found out there’s actually an uncensored version of the series that aired in europe…but there was literally no way for me to access it/get a hold of it…I’m finally saying fukk it and just gonna watch the US version

The only difference is the nudity to be honest and it is not shown alot.

to me comparing spartacus to game of thrones is like comparing a mistress to wifey…they both serve their purpose very well but whereas one exceeds in one area, the other is more well-rounded imo

People apparently hated the last season of Game of Thrones..so it's with faults. Every season of Spartacus got more addictive. Of course it can be compared.

Spartacus is superior. I fell off Vikings but weird thing is I'm okay with it's spinoff Valhalla and even looking forward to the next season tomorrow so I'll probably go back to finish Vikings one day If you haven't watched The Last Kingdom yet I'd get on that asap, movie is also coming out this year. You'd mostly likely enjoy the main characters there more. Fellow Expanse breh @Neo The Resurrected ONE will probably back me.

The Last Kingdom is in my top 20 shows. Would be top 5 if not for the 4th season. I think that covid affected that season where they had to scramble to change parts of the storyline due to similarities.

Yeah, you keep mentioning that but I don't believe it, writing just wasn't tight for that season, the sickness storyline was just a coincidence and a poor plot mover. There are no news anywhere that says covid affected S4 production. Filming for S4 wrapped up months (Apr.-Sep. 2019) before covid was taken seriously which was around the middle of January 2020 IIRC. And I think Netflix gave no fukks about sensitivity because they released two plague shows right in the middle of covid fukkery SK's Kingdom S2 and To The Lake.

S4's dip in quality is likely because of liberties taken with the source material since season 3.

About how I'd rate it too though I never finished Vikings and I'd maybe put Spartacus above TLK. The highs of Spartacus are just through the fukking roof. I read somewhere back when it was airing that they tried to kinda style it/write it/shoot it like a stage play as way to work with the budget it had and I think that worked greatly to it's benefit. There's nothing like Spartacus out there. Not before or since.
