Depends on the job.

When things are busy, it's not much different. Grind in your home office versus a work cubicle ain't that much different except you don't have to worry about driving in rush hour traffic.

HOWEVER - when things are slow, WFH really shines. You have more time to do chores, cook, driving your kids to school/extracurriculars, time for video games and shyt like that.

Introverts will excel at WFH. Extroverts do better with hybrid schedules. They need some in-office time.

Yeah, you don’t have to buy work clothes. Working naked is underrated

You don’t have to spend 8+ hours a week in traffic or on the subway. It’s great waking up 20 minutes before my shift.

You don’t have to pay extra maintenance on your car or spend money on train tickets

You don’t have annoying coworkers in your face or making distracting noises.

You can be home to pick up packages and have work done on your house.

You don’t get sick as often

You can cook on your lunch break
Can work out before you’re tired from working and +2hrs of traffic a day :mjcry:

If you’re going for personal growth as well: the amount of time you get back and can put to use, you can’t get that in-office.

As some folks may know I was able to get my 2nd degree because of all the time I saved from having to commute in the morning/afternoon. That’s nearly 2-3 hours everyday that can be spent on learning vs getting ready to go to work and commuting to/from.

10 to 15 hours saved every week, 52 weeks a year for 5 years is already 2500 hours spent on learning something vs sitting in traffic. Those other skills can then make you better at your job or stack your resume with skills to work anywhere.

Not to mention the free time you’d get everyday when there was zero work. At that point you can learn do/learn whatever you want vs trying to look busy.
