No, the Wii was. Like Liquid said this controller is actually great. The Wii U actually has the best exclusives this gen (Smash 4, Pikmin 3, Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, Mario Maker, etc.). Poor marketing and alienation of 3rd party developers by Nintendo's leadership is what killed this console. But it's still a better effort then the Wii, which was trash.

Good bye Coli(2014-2020)
lol ok.

The hardware was wack.

I'm surprised you're saying this.

The hardware.. mind you didn't have an ethernet port and had no optical out. This is a console released in 2012, not 2005.

I had to get a whole new receiver just to get 5.1 audio. T
he Nintendo games looked "good" due to them just having decent to good art style but on a more powerful system they'd look much better overall. I'd love to see what Nintendo could do with a PS4 or even XB1 like hardware.

The Wii U was terrible hardware wise.

Didnt have a blue ray drive but more importantly you had to charge the controller to a freaking wall socket instead of the console.:ohmy::ohmy:

What type of crap is that?

The hardware was really wack. I'm especially shocked he's saying that when he constantly talks about how PS4 and XB1 aren't good hardware wise but then says the Wii U is great? what??

The damn Wii U is a pain to bring around. Uses an unncessary controller, has last gen like hardware, has missing essentials(ethernet, optical out) and is costly. In what bizarro world is that great?? Mario Kart looking decent for what it's on doesn't negate all this.

The hardware DIRECTLY affected the game experience.

Playing Smash Bros Wi U online is hit or miss. Not even having a damn ethernet port means LAG fest.

Weak hardware resulted in certain modes not playable online in Smash Wii U(8 player smash).

The hardware being so weak meant that lots of third party games were skipped on Wii U because it simply can't run on it or wouldn't be worth the effort to port it.

The hardware in this scenario inhibits some parts of the game.

Breh do you realize that the same shyt could be said for the original Wii? Underpowered, lacked storage, the hardware DIRECTLY affected the game experience, the Wii online system was even WORSE.

The Wii was so fukking wack that the console didn't even come with a controller that would work well for traditional games. Probably my most frustrating purchase ever.

Neither are great consoles, but the Wii U at least had that controller with a better online system. It DIDN'T have as much support beacuse the Wii was an insane hit with casuals, but overall was a bigger dud IMO.

I had the same thoughts for the Wii. The Wii and fukking Wii U literally felt like NIntendo was 5 years behind the curve. I sort of was like "ehhh" for the Wii since it was doing something different and was cheaper but not the Wii U though. shyt came out in 2012 with 2005-ish specs and still costing the same as them. That tablet controller wasn't worth the added cost. I would've preferred had they just simply made the 3DS or whatever revision of that to include that off screen TV feature and call it a day. It's like imaging the PS4 have the Vita as a controller with the standard PS4 controller being optional?? $599 you can stream games to your controller in home or out of it!" shyt would've been a nightmare.

It's still better than what the Wii offered and you know it :manny:

Outside of the sales, the Wii was an accidental success. That shyt was awful and I knew the minute I tried playing other games outside of Wii Sports that it would be a nightmare. The Only 3rd party game that I remember working BETTER on that system than others was Resident Evil 4.

The controller is great man, I like being able to just play on the controller itself if the TV has to be given up. Again, something the OG Wii could not do.

That's the problem. It should've been better than a PS3/360.

Only talking about Nintendo Consoles :manny:

The N64 and the Wii were the big Nintendo duds in the console space from all the years I have been playing. Notice the trend? The N64 sucked, the gamecube suffered sales wise. The Wii was a hit with casuals, but sucked and the Wii U suffered.

Nintendo should rebound if history continues as it did in the past, I just hope it's not relying on gimmicks.

Outside of hardware differences, the latter was always better outside of the sales dip.

idk about the N64.. I liked that shyt. It had some really good classics on there I felt(Though PS1 was KILLING it arguably in sheer numbers.)
The Cube was definitely better. I felt like the gamecube was the most respectable Nintendo console since the snes. It had some really good first party titles, some great third party titles also and the controller wasn't pretty good.

The sales have clouded their minds. The Wii even with all it's sales and "support" was a dust magnet, not HD, terrible online support and a wack ass gimmicky controller.

shyt was a glorified paperweight/night light.

I think the Gamecube was pretty bad. It was one of the only consoles I ended up selling during it's active life.
